Should I have a relapse plan?

This is crucial.  Once you have gone through the hard work of detox and rehabilitation, and have begun living a positive and healthy lifestyle, the last thing you want is to be caught without a backup plan if temptation arises.

Part of an excellent treatment care plan is learning to recognize triggers that may lead to relapse, and have a specific plan in place.  It is insurance against difficult situations and events that will arise in the future.

If you don’t have a relapse plan, get one.  Working with a drug and alcohol counselor can help you with this.
