My child is taking drugs, I can't believe it…what can I do?
Many parents are stunned to find out that their child has been experimenting with drugs, or has even progressed to taking them on a regular basis.
Fear of this being a reality may make it difficult for you to confront your child. You may tell yourself not to make an issue out of it “because it was just their first time using.” Or, you may feel that if you address the problem it will push your child to use drugs or alcohol even more. You may blame yourself, or blame your child’s friends or your spouse or ex-spouse.
Facing the fear is the first step in helping your child. Then, take action.
