No parent wants to hear the difficult and disturbing news that their child may be involved in drugs.

Initiate the conversation by telling your neighbor that if it were you, you would want this information. Provide your neighbor with the specifics of why you know their kids are involved in drugs.

Remain calm and supportive, even if your neighbor reacts negatively. Their initial response may be one of denial. They may feel that you are being judgmental.

If they aren’t willing to discuss the problem, make sure that they are aware that you are willing to talk to them about this problem at any time.
